Ghanaian rap artist, singer and prolific songwriter Kofi Kinaata made history at the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards 19. The musician noted for chart-topping hit singles became the first ever to win in the newly created Hybrid Song of the Year Category at the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards 19.
Standing a tough competition from Shatta Wale, Ras Kuuku, Dada Hafco, Strongman and Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata came top with his nationwide hit single Things Fall Apart.
The announcement was met with roaring applause from the patrons at the event.
Kofi Kinaata now holds the enviable bragging right as the first artist ever to win in the newly created category at the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards.
Created in 2019, the Hybrid Song of the Year is meant to reward musicians who are known for all other genres except Gospel music but produced a material worth categorizing as Gospel music in the year under review.
